Our verification process

At Quitwise, we understand the importance of connecting patients with qualified healthcare providers who can sufficiently support their smoking cessation and management of nicotine dependence journeys. Our comprehensive verification process ensures that all listed providers meet strict quality and compliance standards.

Our commitment to quality

Before any healthcare provider appears in our directory, they undergo a thorough vetting process. This helps ensure that you can access appropriate care from experienced professionals who properly understand therapeutic vaping products and their role in helping you move away from the dangers of smoking and/or illicit vape use.

Pharmacy verification

When assessing pharmacies for inclusion in our directory, we verify multiple aspects of their service capability:

Stock availability: We confirm that each pharmacy maintains adequate stock levels of TGO 110 notified therapeutic vaping products. This means you can be confident that when you visit a listed pharmacy, they will have appropriate products available to fill your prescription.

Staff training: All pharmacists at listed locations must demonstrate a minimum requirement of relevant training in the supply and dispensing of therapeutic vaping products. This ensures they can provide:

  1. Proper handling and storage of products;
  2. Accurate dispensing according to prescriptions; and
  3. Appropriate patient counselling and support, including initial set up and usage guidance.

Prescriber and clinic verification

For medical practitioners and clinics, our verification process focuses on their qualifications and authority to prescribe nicotine-containing products:

Authorised Prescriber status: We verify that practitioners either:

  1. Hold current registration as TGA Authorised Prescribers of nicotine through the Authorised Prescriber Scheme; or
  2. Have demonstrated training and experience in prescribing therapeutic vaping products through alternative special access pathways.

Clinical experience: Listed prescribers must show expertise in:

  1. Understanding therapeutic vaping products;
  2. Their role in smoking cessation and the management of nicotine dependence; and
  3. Patient assessment and ongoing care.

Ongoing compliance

Our commitment to quality doesn’t end after initial verification. We regularly review our listed providers to ensure continued compliance with:

  1. Product availability (for pharmacies);
  2. Current therapeutic vaping regulations;
  3. TGA requirements and guidelines; and
  4. Best practices in smoking cessation and management of nicotine dependence care.

Why this matters

This rigorous verification process helps ensure that:

  1. You can access qualified healthcare providers with confidence;
  2. All listed providers meet regulatory requirements;
  3. You receive appropriate care and support for your smoking cessation and/or management of nicotine dependence journey; and
  4. Products are supplied safely and responsibly, without judgement.
